1943 CCKW 353 ST-6 M12A1

This is one of the 612 welding trucks that were originally built for the US army during WWII. When you compare the numbers produced to the total of 500 000+ CCKW's produced, it becomes quite a rare model. The M12 production, together with a number of other ST-5/ST-6 models, was transferred to regular cargo trucks in order to save on metal consumption.

Past projects

War Weasel only launched in 2023, but not without the necessary experience. I had already been passionately fixing and restoring vehicles for 18 years prior to starting work for customers.
Below a few examples of past projects.

1942 BSA WM20

This bike has an interesting history. After the war, it was found in Egypt. An American bought it, who sold it on to an England. Subsequently it was sold to Holland where I had the chance to buy it. By then it was quite rough and in a very sorry state. A full restoration ensued, before it left for England again.

1944 GMC CCKW353

The work horse of the US army during WW2. They came in various models for all sorts of purposes. This version has the closed cab and an all-wood cargo bed. The wood cargo bed was an effort in reducing steel consumption. 2nd project ever taken on. I'm proud to be able to say this one is still running to this day, as it left my ownership.

1943 Indian 741B

A complete restoration was done on this one. It was marked up as early 2nd CAV, who were the only US unit to have been issued this model for comparison to the Harley-Davidson counterpart. Soon after the Indian left my possession, it was bought by and displayed, as built, for many years in a high quality Dutch war museum.

1944 look-alike Willys (Hotchkiss)

My father bought this jeep when I was about 8 years old. He gave me my first stick shift and driving lessons in it. We used to take it to all over to various MV events. After about 14 years of fun with it, it was very much time to rebuild it. After restoration it was marked up as 95th ID in honor of 2 veterans, with whom I had the opportunity to spend a weekend with.

1943 White M3A1 scout car

This scout car was found in Northern France. A sympathetic restoration was executed to bring it up to spec again. Early 2nd CAV markings where chosen as the finishing touch. Note the early style tractor tires as where used on armored vehicles.

194? 1-Ton trailer (Ben Hur)

After suffering an accident (rear-ended), the chassis was bent and the wood shattered in various places. A full deconstruction was done, to rebuild it from scratch. It's still in use, as built, by the same owner as the GMC 353.
